Silvana Toet Paintress/Kunstenares

Silvana had mainly interests in drawing and painting. Her teacher was Fransje van Unnik in The Hague, before she moved to another part of the country, in 1989. It was there where she developed her passions for several Art Directions. To make ethical nude paintings she studied nude figure models for their anatomy, and became a painting teacher herself in her local place Terheijden, as in her Home Art Studio. She created many sculptures, hand formed ceramics and artworks with glass.

Since 2007 she added something new:

The Weatherproof Outdoor Paintings

Priorities in this were to design these paintings All Weatherproof on Durable, Natural Material of high quality to integrate in another piece of Nature : The Garden. A connection has been made. Experiments, trials, tests and her experience in shipbuilding, where she acquired so much knowledge of materials and the influences on each other, has led to this desired final result. Also all sawn Artworks are sawn by herself. To avoid bothersome sun glare outdoors the Artworks, with an exception of two, are not finished with glossy materials. Agressive and harmful substances like epoxy, which brings discoloration in UV light, are not used. Epoxy is a synthetic polymer, originate by a chemical reaction of 2 components. It is, so to say, the Plastic. Also read : Wikipedia Epoxy - Health Risks.
